Intro to TOB (Level I) - October 30 | 6:00 PM
Theology of the Body Community of Acadiana invites you to dive into St. John Paul II’s beautiful teaching on human love and God’s plan for our lives. This four-part series will be held on Thursday evenings, Oct. 30, Nov. 6, 13 & 20 from 6–8 PM at Holy Cross Catholic Church in the Faith Hall of the Calais Center (Bldg. C).
Participants will also need to order the required workbook separately through Ascension Press, which includes access to the accompanying video series: ascensionpress.com.
✨ First-time attendees are eligible for continuing education credit.

All Saints Dress-Up (Optional):
Children are invited to come dressed as their favorite saint! Keep it simple, low-cost, and low-stress — the goal is to joyfully celebrate the Communion of Saints together.
Pillowcases, old sheets, oversized t-shirts, and small accessories (like a flower or toy sword) make great costumes!

Weekly Reflection
In Sunday’s Gospel, we heard the story of Bartimaeus — a blind man sitting by the roadside, begging for mercy as Jesus passed by. When others tried to silence him, Bartimaeus only cried out louder: “Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!”
That cry of faith stopped Jesus in His tracks. In that moment, the Lord who gathers His people with compassion — as Jeremiah prophesied — called Bartimaeus forward and asked, “What do you want Me to do for you?” With simple honesty, Bartimaeus replied, “Master, I want to see.”
His faith opened not only his eyes but his heart. He was healed, and then he followed Jesus along the road — no longer sitting in darkness, but walking in the light.
As we move from this Sunday’s Gospel into the coming week, our hearts turn toward All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day. The saints remind us what it looks like to live with clear spiritual vision — to see God at work even in hardship, and to follow Him faithfully wherever He leads.
Take a few quiet moments this week to let Jesus ask you, “What do you want Me to do for you?” Bring your honest answer before Him — in Adoration, in prayer, or in the stillness of your day — and then, like Bartimaeus, rise and follow Him with renewed faith and vision.

Like Bartimaeus, may we cry out to the Lord with faith that sees beyond the crowd — faith that believes mercy will stop for us.
